Writing Notes
This lesson will show you how to create and write lectures, including how to add equations, pictures and links.
Create notes
Filling out this form will create a new set of notes for the course indicated. Adding a number allows you to make your notes sequential. The date can also be filled out using the Calendar icon.
Inputting notes
Once your set of Notes has been created you will be taken to this page where you can enter the Notes. On this page Notes will be saved every 10 seconds incase you loose interrnet connectivity.
Basic Formatting
Basic formatting is simple with Notely. We provide a similar menu to Word or iWork. You can do all sorts of Bold, Italic, Font Size, Font, Alignment and much more.
Adding Equations
Notely uses LaTeX, a scientific layout language, to write formulae. In case you don't know what I'm talking about we provided an equation editor with dynamic equation preview. Simply use the buttons at the top to layout your equation and click Test Equation. Your Equation will be displayed by the number 2.
To find the Equation Editor simpy click the Sigma symbol b the number 1.
Equation
Once you're done editing your equation hit Insert and you'll see something like this added to your Notes. When you come to view or export your notes this will be converted to an image containing the formula.
Adding Wikipedia Links
Notely understands the power of Wikipedia, it's a useful tool not to be overlooked. If you want to add a link to wikipedia from your Notes simply highlight the keyword as in 1 and click the W button at 2. This will bring up a dialog box as shown, the word you highlighted will be added to the Link URL. This will link to the english version of Wikipedia for your keyoword. Simply hit enter when you're done.
Adding Google Links
Google search can be a pretty useful tool too, it's a pretty powerful search tool. You can add a link to Google Search easily. Simply highlight the keyword click the G button and check the link. Click insert when you're done.
